Adding genetics to an app means taking on work that most product teams aren’t set up to manage: shipping collection kits, coordinating sample returns, answering sequencing questions and turning genetic data into useful information. Our API brings all of that into one service.
When a customer needs sequencing, they order directly through a co-branded flow launched from your app. We manage kit delivery, sample returns, sequencing and processing, including customer support throughout fulfillment and sequencing. Questions about a missing kit or how to return a sample come to us. Your app receives progress updates and the resulting insights.
Customers who already have a .genome with Genome Computer can simply grant your app access. There’s no additional test, sample collection or manual file upload.
We also work with each company to design custom insight panels: groups of genetic findings selected and structured around what your product does and what insights you’re looking to provide.
A nutrition app might want context about how a customer processes foods and drinks. A health platform might want genetic findings alongside blood results and lifestyle information. An AI app might use genetic context to make its conversations more personal.
We work with you to define the panels, configure them and deliver the results through the API. Each panel includes structured findings, supporting evidence, citations and limitations. Your team can build those findings into your product without creating its own bioinformatics or genetic interpretation pipelines.
That gives companies two practical advantages. You can introduce genetic features with less operational and scientific work, and the insights are designed for the experience you want to deliver. As your product develops, we can introduce additional panels through the existing connection.
The API is also built around a simple principle: a customer’s genome should remain useful across the products they choose.
Someone who gets their genome through one app can later grant another app access to that same .genome. Each company receives its own permissioned connection. Customers retain control of their genome and can use it in more places without repeating the sequencing process.
For organizations, this means you can serve customers who already have their genome as well as those getting sequenced for the first time. For users, each new integration creates another way to use something they already own.
