How to collect your sample

  1. Collect from one side

    Remove the collector from its package without touching the sponge.

    Gently rub back and forth along your lower gums 10 times. Avoid the teeth if possible.

  2. Collect from the other side

    Repeat on the opposite side: gently rub back and forth along the lower gums 10 more times.

  3. Open the tube

    Keep the tube upright to prevent spills. Unscrew its blue cap without touching the sponge.

  4. Reverse the cap and seal

    Flip the cap over so the sponge goes into the tube. Screw the cap on tightly.

  5. Shake to mix

    Turn the sealed tube upside down, then shake it vigorously 10 times.

  6. Bag your sample

    Place the tube in the provided specimen bag.

  7. Pack your sample

    Place the specimen bag and tube in the return mailer.

  8. Send it back to us

    Return postage is already paid. Look at the shipping label to see which carrier is handling your return — UPS or USPS.

    A USPS (US-only) return can go in any mailbox, at a post office, or with your mail carrier.

    For UPS (non-US) orders, you can arrange a pickup from a convenient location.

  9. Watch for our email

    We’ll send an email when your sample reaches our lab.
